If used correctly lime can prevent damp build up – a lot of old buildings have been coated in modern sand and cement which prevents the building from breathing, creating damage to the timbers and brickwork alike. The lime plaster allows the buildings to breathe, letting the moisture escape therefore preserving the life of both the timbers and the brickwork.
